The First Annual General body Meeting of the Qatar aluminium extrusion company has been held on 3rd April, 2011, Sunday at QIMC conference room at Al corniche.
Qatar Aluminium extrusion company , the QIMC project along with other reputed business group of Qatar like Salam international investments limited, Alutec , Aluminium Gulf Ray, Qatar Belgium company, Qatar Real estate investment company and Qatar-Oman investments company is all set to roll out its first product in Q2 of 2011. The plant is going to produce extruded aluminium profiles in different grades both in Mill finish and powder coated form. The expected production will be about 8000 tons to 9000 tons per year at first phase of the operation.
The AGM has been attended by the representative from associated investors along with QIMC. The representative from Ministry of Business & Trade was present in the meeting to witness the meeting activities.
The maiden audit report for the company has been presented by the external auditor, M/s. Delloitte and Touche.
The gathered board members were informed about the present status of the project which will in action by Q2-2011. And the Chairman of the company, Mr. Abdul Rehman Al Ansari has revealed the future planning of the company. He informed the attended board members that keeping in view about the upcoming developments in Qatar and in extrusion industry, company is planning to triple its present manufacturing capacity by adding two more manufacturing lines along with existing set up. He also emphasized the importance of having a dedicated cast house for recycling the aluminium and to produce some special composition of extrudable alloys. He informed the members that company is also working out the possibility to set up a dedicated die shop to cater the inhouse requirements. He told the gathering that the ground work has been started already for the expansion of the manufacturing capacity.
At concluding point of the meeting , Mr. Ansari told the company keeping all avenue open to see the feasibilities to go ahead with other form of aluminium metals like components casting , forming , drawing etc., which will be the future requirement of the Qatar which is now becoming international focus of investments.
